Mike helps companies and their legal counsel avoid and/or resolve business disputes. His experience includes construction project controls and the investigation and resolution of complex disputes, primarily related to the construction, energy, and utility industries.
Mike performs cost and schedule analyses, including evaluating issues related to contract disputes, breach of contract, critical path schedule delay claims, acceleration and inefficiency claims, cost overruns, schedule reasonableness analyses, and due diligence for ongoing projects. He performs Critical Path Method (“CPM”) analyses, reviews and analyzes contemporaneous construction documentation, assists in creating Expert and Rebuttal Reports, performs consulting services in support of mediation negotiations and arbitrations, and performs consulting services in support of on-going construction for Owners and Contractors.
Prior to his claims and disputes consulting work, Mike worked as a design Project Engineer for Manhard Consulting, Ltd., a civil design land development firm. He led a team of engineers through a multitude of land development design projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional projects, from conceptual stage through design, permitting, and construction. His design experience during this time included, among others, storm water management facilities, utility design, contractor RFI management, architect/MEP/Owner design coordination, and contractor or Owner-initiated design changes.
